Karen has advised and worked with private equity firms for over 30 years primarily helping clients navigate and accelerate the transition from day-to-day operations through fundraising. Since 2007 she has helped clients define the strategic positioning of their funds and develop materials articulating and evidencing the firm’s value proposition for investors.
Karen formed HelmsDowne, an outsourced provider of investor relations services, in 2011.
Most recently she was a Partner at Snowbridge LLC. Prior to forming HelmsDowne, she was a Senior Vice President with Jefferies (fka Helix Associates) subsequently advising the Riverside Company as a senior project manager. During 17 years with JPMorgan Chase, and its predecessor firms, she held private equity advisory, M&A, corporate finance, and corporate staff positions. As Vice President in the Private Equity Advisory Group she focused on deal origination and was the liaison to the firm’s Financial Sponsor coverage teams for several industry groups. Karen began her career at the inception of First Reserve Corporation where she managed several direct oil & gas portfolios and assisted with the firm’s investor relations and accounting functions.
Karen is a graduate of the University of Connecticut with a BA in Political Science.
